New to me style of SOWW

Has anyone run into a stick on ww where each segment is approximately 3/8" wide and about 5/8" high and coated with a thick layer of light grey plastic. I should have taken a picture but did not think of it until it was to late. Anyhow, when I tried to bend them they just cracked apart at the joint. I clipped them with the wire cutters and they felt like lead but also made a noise like they were cracking and that may have been the plastic. The cut looked like lead but I kept them separated and melted them by themselves. I only had enough to make one, one pound ingot. Took it to work and XRFed it to find the following.
    Pb 90
    Sb 8
    Sn 1
This is this first time I have found this type.

They might have been all plastic.

That is an interesting mix for a stick on type. The plastic ones I have seen are all plastic. Why would they bother putting tin and antimony into something that was going to be encased in plastic? Take a picture next time!

Must have been light grey paint or PC, not plastic. We've all seen plenty of those.

I'll bet it was PC. That would explain why it was crackly

I just picked up around 300 lbs. of wheelweights and found much the same.

There are a lot of zinc wheelweights in there and some that seem softer than zinc but harder than lead... those I have segregated to check later.

There are also a variety of stick WW's. Some are iron, some zinc, some I don't know and much are lead, some of which appear to be powder coated... again segregated until I am sure. Most of the "lead" stick on WW's are fairly soft but not as soft as pure lead and many have a grey coating which I am assuming is a powder coat or a good coat of paint.

I have not used "fresh" WW's for many years so this is all new to me. I was watching for zinc but these inbetweeners (especially the stick on) have me wondering. I'll have to check melting temperature and see how they cast on their own to be sure before I mix them.

I have only sorted maybe 100 lbs so far. At this point I am thinking it should be a federal offense to put zinc wheelweights in with lead! Here I am trying to be a good recycler but I have to watch for traps.

Check out BNE's thread on the composition of stick on wheel weights.
