It is a fine caliber, I have a 10" T/C and a Dan Wesson revolver in it. I had an AMT and LAR over the years both fine pistols but I prefer the revolver to the auto. You'll want to limit your range (obviously) and I always prefer the heavier bullets namely the 300g Hornady XTP (regular XTP not the XTP-mag).

A 45 win mag Dan Wesson Revolver, that is interesting by chance still have it? Got any pics? I have a 45LC DW and love it but don't shoot it much any more. I have alsorun the 45 win mag in an AR15 with 10.5" barrel that groups in the 2" range @ 100yds off hand. Haven't hunted with it but may this year.
Yes, still have it. No, no pictures. Started life as a .460, ordered in a spare cylinder an cut it for the .45WM.

Cool, both rounds are fun.
I have had a ten inch TC barrel for about a year now but have yet to shoot it, had no brass until recently. Will probably get it to the range soon. Will let you know what I think of it.

I am Retired, I was tired yesterday and I am tired today!!!
I imagine they got the barrels at a good price and have simply not gotten around to shooting them. I've bought barrels (and guns for that matter) that I just could not pass up due to the price and lingered for years before they were ever fired. Just not enough time to spend 3-4 hours a day everyday on the range.

I hate to admit it, but I've bought barrels that were to good of a deal to pass up and sold them later without ever firing a shot through them
To the point of the OP, I don't see why a 45 WM barrel wouldn't group well with the right load.
That is much more common that you would expect.I hate to admit it, but I've bought barrels that were to good of a deal to pass up and sold them later without ever firing a shot through them

I'd be very interested in learning more about the AR15 conversion (I'd have thought someone would have converted AR10s, but I haven't researched for any info).
At any rate, consistently holding in the 2 MOA range with a 10.5" semi-auto chambering the 45 Win Mag is impressive... and has to be almost too much fun.
I've used the 45 WM in the Contender, AMT Automag IV, and a couple LAR "Grizzly" semi-autos. It's been a fine performer in every case.
Your 14" TC should be no different, and I expect you'll find it to be a pleasure to work with.
