I had outstanding results with a KKM Glock 21 barrel. Scary accurate with 200 gr swc.

KKM barrels are good quality, and my first choice for a replacement barrel.

Of course, my Glock 21 factory barrel is "scary accurate" as well, with 200gr SWC loads. Glock's 45's (except the 30S) do seem to be more accurate than the 9's and 40's, in my experience.

Anybody use the NY1 trigger spring and 3.5 connector? I just ordered this setup for my 26. From what I understand this is supposed to give the trigger the same feel throughout the pull much like a double action revolver, which I would prefer. I have the Ghost 3.5 connector in both my 19 and the 26. The 19 has a really sweet trigger pull but the 26 does not, it seems to have some harsh over travel that kills my shooting.

That is what it does! I had it installed by a department approved Glock armorer for my carry weapon, G35. I came over from my GP100 and the department BEGGED me to switch over, so I did. Felt like a great D trigger. But I think the Gen 4 has a great as is trigger. I didn't do anything to my G26 or G19 for EDC.

Glad to hear it. I enjoy shooting my S&W 10-5 and Ruger Service Six double action so a short and sweet version of that is appealing.

The NY1 spring showed up and I installed it in the 26. I dry fired it some to see how it felt, didn't have the chance to do a range report. I like how the NY1/3.5 connector feels more like a double action. Unfortunately, it made the trigger heavier and somewhat gritty. I removed it and put the stock spring back in. I will try the NY1 again at some point when I can fire alot of rounds with it. I would say this combo will feel alot better once it gets good and broken in.

Thanks for the follow up. Would any kind of polishing help it out? I've been interested in the NY trigger, but never sprung for one.

Its called "25 Cent Trigger Job". Several good you tube videos on it.

I have done a very basic polish job by hand to my pistols but not like the mirror finish you see in the videos. Sometime when I get a free afternoon in the garage I'll do it more thoroughly. Right now my range time is limited so I don't want to be making any major changes to my defensive or hunting guns.

I've shot quite a few Missouri Bullet 124gr LRN bullets from my Glock 17 without any leading. However, I never shoot more than 100 at a time and clean after each range trip. I got a little bit of leading out of my Glock 21 with 185gr LSWC. It cleaned up well though.

I´m thinking about getting a mold for my 40S&W glock and take up shooting lead in it again.
I plan to use lead for volume practice and J´s for competition..
Yrs back I put about 2500 of commercial cast 155gr RNSWC through it witout a single problem.
I even runned about 900 rds over a IPSC trainingweekend without any major cleaning..

Then I met a guy who had been a smith in the US that cried wolf, and predicted kabooms, loosing bodyparts and all over great missery if I proceeded with lead. He had lots of stories about lead in polyglocks and refered to several forums.
I had never heard about the lead/glock issue, and stayed of the lead since then..

Now I cast my own in most of my handguns, but not the .40...
I can´t recall that I had any problem with leading in my Glock?
My thought is that improper cleaning/boolit fit lets the lead build up?

It´s a 40S&W 35 with original poly barrel, I keep my guns clean and normaly shoots about 100- 200 rds each session, with a good cleaning and inspection after each session.. ( good solvent and brushes, not just run a boresnake once and call it good!)
So, with proper sized boolits, of a proper BHN, loaded moderate, and a good cleaning/inspection between sessions, am I good to go?

Yep, that's what you should do with any gun. My own Glocks don't have a problem with lead build up with boolits, the Storm Lake barrel is just more accurate so that's what I use. Now, if I was using different boolits, diameter, lead, powder, position of celestial bodies, etc. the opposite might be true!

I did a proper .25 cent trigger job on my Glock 26 last night. I took my time and used Mother's mag wheel polish and ear swabs. I polished the firing pin safety and part of the trigger bar that engages it, sear portion of the trigger bar and part which engages the connector, and the tail of the firing pin that engages the sear to a mirror shine. Upon close inspection under a good light I was surprised at how many machining marks there were on these parts. The sear and corresponding part of the firing pin I gently smoothed with a whetstone prior to polishing. Haven't fired the pistol yet but the trigger pull does have a somewhat better break now.

I was able to put some rounds through the 26 after work yesterday. The polishing job helped but not by a huge amount. I think the only other mod I may do is try the Ghost Edge connector, and alot more bullets down range of course.

I shoot ww alloy in my polygonal barrel and no lead buildup , i dont shoot soft lead this is what glock is talking about , they say hard cast is ok , not lead, aka soft lead , so cast em, water drop em with an alloy , should be no problem
using wheel weights and water dropped gets @ 20-22 bhn a good hard cast boolit . my 2c worth
oh my polygonal barrel is a 9 E. german makarov....

Today I managed to put about 40 of 'em through the 26, using 3.3 and 3.6 grains Titegroup and 1.130 OAL. Function was 100%. 3.3 grains was very accurate and easy to shoot. 3.6 grains was a bit less accurate and had noticeably more recoil. Both of them are about an inch high at 20 feet, which was expected as my 26 is dead on with 115 grain slugs. Next time I'll bring the chronograph. Looks promising so far, more research is needed!

From their web site, I use 5 grains of WW AutoComp with a 124 grain Extreme Bullet. Its pushing them a tad above 1000 from my now gone G26 and right at 1075-2000 fps from my G19. Will tell you how they work from my XDS in 9mm tomorrow when I pick it up!
