    Lee .456" Cap & Ball mold for S&W 25-2?

Has anyone here used this .456" Lee mold intended to produce bullets for Cap & Ball revolvers, in a S&W model 25-2 with oversize cylinder throats?

Some of the Midway comments are very positive about using this bullet in a Model 25.

Once upon a time, I had that mould but it did not work in percussion revolvers. There is no reason for it to work well in a cartridge arm as the base is too small for the cartridge case. Slug you chamber throats, make them uniform is necessary and buy a mould that fits them.
To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, the trouble with many shooting experts is not that they're ignorant; its just that they know so much that isn't so.

I have pin gauged my cylinder throats, and they will admit a .456" pin, but not allow it to pass out the front of the cylinder, on all the shot holes. All the shot holes will admit and pass out the front a .455" pin gauge. This bullet would appear to be a perfect fit for my cylinder throats.

My Lee 220gr. .456 mold casts .456 on the front band & .451+ on the base band with pure lead. They were made for the Ruger Old Army. I have sized them to ,452 & shot them in my 1911 ,just see if they would work.
