Storing everything on local drives risks total loss through theft, fire, flood or other act of God. Have two or more copies of anything important and at least one copy stored off site.

For "valuable non-replacable" data/photos. I do tertiary backups on 3 different USB 2GB drives (soooocheap these days!) and keep one in the house, one in my back loading shed, and one in the secure closet at the office. Everything is totally backed up 3X and totally secure! And ALL MINE! No cloud or internet hacking/theft!

Your system is as good as it gets, but I don't have your resources. FWIW, I have few concerns about hacking of my personal web site / photo storage. Whoever expends the effort will be sorely disappointed with the "take."

I just leave my pics on photobucket, hog up their space, don't pay and if i want a pic posted somewhere, just use another place.

wonder how much it cost them to just "hold" my pics.... , I've got nothing on there I am afraid of losing. in fact i never put pics i care about on the web as a form of 'storage'.
