    Mihec 55gr mold

Finely got time to cast with the 8-cav 55gr core mold today. All's I can say is WOW!!!

The mold rained a pile beautiful cores in a hurry. They measured .186" using 20# of pure lead and 1oz of tin. I only weighed 20 random cores and the weight range was from 54.1gr to 54.5gr.

It didn't take long, less than an hour to cast #12 of cores (1500 cores) with this 8-cavity mold. I simply cleaned the mold with dawn dish soap and pre-heated it and started casting. The mold cast excellent quality cores from the 1st pour & the cores fell right out of the mold.

Bought the mold to make blasting/blammo ammo for the ar's. The cores are close enough in weight for my needs that I don't have to use a bleed die to uniform them. Plan on tossing the cores in a 22lr jacket & seating them then on to the point forming die.

In the past I was either casting cores from a home made mold or using lead wire & a cutter to make cores. Then I uniform them in a bleed die. The 8-cavity mold makes this part of swaging so much easier/quicker.

Wow! That's the way to do it. I've got an adjustable 5 cavity mold I use but I think once I get things dialed in casting cores with a more traditional mold may be the way to do it.

I had an adjustable 4cav Corbin mold, but I sold it and took two MP core molds. I took 55grs for general use and I use 50grs in a same way as Forrest.

I made 1500 cores in 1.5h effortlessly- its like night and day compared to adjustable mold.

If someone is even considering to buy similar mold (check prices-you will be surprised) he should not wait.

For that price (80€ delivered) knowing it was a special run and he has only 3 left.....
