I've not recovered any from game yet as all shots were through and through. However, comparative testing between Devastators cast of 16-1 alloy and COWW + 2% tin/50% lead alloy in sopping wet newsprint demonstrate the 16-1 alloy expands w/o shedding its expansion petals which the COWW allow did most often. The recovered COWW alloy Devastators looked pretty much like those the OP recovered. Test was with both alloyed bullets at 1350 fps out of Ruger FTBH and 1485 fps out of a Contender with newsprint bundle 10' to 12' from muzzle. As I recall the retained weight was 85 - almost 100%. I wouldn't expect that % weight retention in game though, especially larger pigs.

Thus I reckon weight retention with the 16-1 alloy would be much better than with the COWW alloy.

Your boolits are working great, just curious.

Hey!..a great idea came to me by accident a few minutes ago. While I was PCing an air soft BB got stuck in my HP cavity.

Put a little super glue on it and your all set...

Looks like great fun! I used to hunt hogs back in Georgia, but not from a motorcycle. Congrats!

I glued a few in place today for testing. Found out they were too long to fit in my 77/44 magazine. I ground them flat so they are flush with the cavity so the hollow point is completely sealed and will now feed. Don't plan on testing them since they don't look as cool as the original plan just going to plink with the few I made. I think the open hollow point will give more of a thump and shock on game IMO anyways.
