    XP 100 221 Fireball

OK maybe the wrong place , but it is a pistol

Years back I bought a used XP 100 in 221 Fireball that had the barrel trashed by the first owner
So as I felt the 221 Fireball was good for my ground hog hunting

I had a new Douglas barrel put on and chambered again in 221 Fireball , but this time a 14" barrel

As I have been having problems with the Darn Migraines
The XP 100 has been a safe queen for the last 5 years

So I told a few people I was going to sell the pistol ,a Leupold Scope , a Leupold scope mount , Leupold Rings , 200 1X fired cases and a set of RCBS dies

Only 300 or so rounds through the barrel

    So now the question
    What to ask ??

The guy that wants it is waving cash and I want to sell
But I don't feel like either giving it away or asking way to much

    Thanks
    John

    Ask between $750.00 and $900.00.
More if you think they'll pay it.

I would not take a dime less than $900 for the package...but that is just me.

I had the XP in .221 and punched it out to .223 many years ago when brass for the .221 was unobtainable...still shoot it occasionally.

While, I would not take less than the $900...I would not pay that for it, either.

    Sorry
    A VX 1 4 x 28 pistol scope that I bought in 2002 ..... maybe 2001

A great scope , as I used either a Bi pod or sand bags all the time

Many years ago,, when I was younger & unable to keep guns,,, instead of selling one to buy another,,, I bought a 4 digit early XP-100. A SWEET gun! The seller remorse is high on that one. If it were me,,, I'd not price your package less than $1000. You can always negotiate downward,,, but never upward. And,, like shoot-n-lead I'd not sell it for less than $1000. If I was in the market,, I'd give serious consideration at buying it for $1000.

Last one I saw for sale was priced at $995, no brass and no dies. I'd love to find one in 7 BR. I shot my friends 7 BR and was astounded. It was easily the most accurate pistol I ever fired and perhaps the most accurate gun period.

Your package is worth easily $1000, but if you have a local FTF cash offer for anything over $900 I would sell if you really need the $$, but if holding out for best auction price, with the package you have, $1000 is the starting bid and $1200 the Buy Now.

I will bet when you price it at 1000 he stops waiving cash.

As Outpost 75 said. 750-900 for a factory gun, but; with the aftermarket barrel and Lupy scope I'd put it in the 1000-1200 range. That is a fun gun and cartridge for an afternoon ground hog safari.

A few months ago I bought a new, unfired XP100 Remington Custom Shop 223 for $825, these come with a laminated stock & i believe they are no longer made. What all they do to them I don't know. This was just the gun, no scope, brass, rings, mounts, custom barrel, etc. I would think your gun would bring $1000 easy "to the right buyer". Many guys won't want one in 221 Fireball because of the brass issue but 200 rounds is going to last for a long time & there's more out there somewhere. Good luck on the sale, it's a great set up. 40 gr. Ballistic Tips or V Max's really make it shine. And being 14" it can easily be punched out to 223 or 223 Ackley like I've done on a couple.

There is no brass issue https://www.midwayusa.com/221-fireball/br?cid=7348

Further Grandpa, a vendor on this site, makes some excellent converted 221 brass.

Did you say it was a rh or lh bolt?
If i were in the market for a xp-100 i would pay a premium for a lh bolt just so I could keep the pistol in my rh and work the bolt with my left. Btw, I'm right handed.

The XP-100 was never made with a left hand bolt.

However, all Savage Striker's were left hand bolt...might want to look at them.

I think b$1100 is a more than fair price for your pkg. XP-100 actions are prized in my neck of the woods for building up affordable benchrest rifles.

My 7BR was the most accuraqte firearm I've ever shot I only sold it because my arms were too short for the LER scopes available those days.

Been kicking myself in the rear ever since the EER and other pistol scopes became available...such is life...

Good luck with your Migraine issues I know how debilitating they can be.

My 7BR will out shoot most rifles at the club.
The still make the wood grip. Can't find the link right now.
My 221 is for the TC Contender. Does well.
