Red face Jackets to make swaged bullets for 500 S&W

I am looking at swageing bullets for the 500S&W mag. Any suggestions on what to use for jackets? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Iron Whittler

I use annealed .45acp brass to make bullets for my .50 Beowulf.

Contact Dino with fury custom bullets, he did some thin wall .500 jackets for me and they look great. Have not had a chance to make some with them yet but plan to shorty.

I've got an example bullet from BT made from 45 acp that looks good. For when you want to "plink" with the hand canon...

When you use 45acp brass, is there a step that expands the brass first, or am I dreaming that? I thought I read somewhere that a punch will first expand the brass to very close to finished size, or maybe it expands to size?

If you want something more substantial for bear and the like, I am making some that are 1.485 long with .060" thick walls. Definitely the cure for whatever needs shot.

This is what I do. It allows use of proper size core seat punch when seating the core.

i just use copper sheeting like what is used in roofing and construction for most of my bullets. if you can read the menu at your local scrap dealer then you can make hundreds of jackets for around $10..
