I like mine. Lot of versatility. I've gone through a number of barrels/scopes/grips over the years. Everything from a 10" 30/30 to a .22. All I still have are the old octagon barrels .22, .38/357 and .44. Only one I shoot is the .22 for the most part.

I have a bunch. The triggers are different on the Contender G2. The G2 uses the same system as the Encore. They become addictive.

Let's just say that I have "several". I buy every action that I come across and can afford at the time. The majority of my Contender shooting is 22LR, 22 Hornet, 7 TCU, and 35 Remington. I plan to never get rid of them till I'm too old to shoot. I have barrels from 10" to 20".....handgun & carbine

I have a Contender with 4 calibers (5 barrels) and two Encores. If you want to get wacky, that's the way to go. OTOH, I picked up a CVA Scout this week and am impressed with the gun. I paid $278OTD for the rifle with base, a box of .3006 ammo, and 200rd of 9mm.

357 Max. Get a 10" barrel. Shoot 180 gr. cast boolits. Nothing better in a hand gun. Deadly at 100 yards. I have killed deer, ground hog's and a couple of coyotes with mine. I'm using a 3X Burris scope.

I have a Contender and half a dozen barrels, and I will not be without it. As said above it is addicting.

For TC's early "Recoil Proof" line of pistol scopes for the Contenders that mounted without using rings, did they ever make some type of adaptive mounting to let them be used with Weaver rails?

Contenders? I bought my first one in 221 FB in 1976 and have not stopped. I have the original frame updated(>50k), a G2 in blue and stainless.
    Barrels from 22LR to 45/70. Favorites: 22 LR Match, 32/20, 357 Max, 44 Mag.
Get your frame and you can get some good barrels off of Evil Bay.

I've got 3 pistol barrels and 2 carbine rifle sets as well as a .410 carbine shotgun barrel for mine. Its a great utility firearm.

The Fort in Big Timber used to get a few in but I have not seen any the last few years. Frames show up new now on Gunbroker. I would start by ordering one in and buying barrels off the net.

35 years a T/C Contender man. 8 barrels, I shoot silhouette with it too. Trigger at 4oz. No not a typo. I top with glass and EoTech's
    Never plan to sell it.

I,,, like many others here,, own a "few" & such. Heck,, look at my name here. I've had T/C Contenders in my stable since 1980. Over 100 whitetails have fallen with one shot,, well placed,, with my 7x30 Waters alone. LOTS to play with.

Contenders are like Lays Potatoe chips, you can't have just one.
3 in 45-70, 45/410, 35 Remington, 17 Remington, 223 30-30, and two frames. My encore in 30-06 was stolen out of the back of my truck. I am looking for a color case harden frame in either style. When I find one I just hope I have the money to buy it.

I can't say, but they cost about what an Encore barrel does, so if you're only after claibers CVA sells that might be he better option.
