Haven't shot my T/C Hawken in a few years. I started out using 90 grains Goex ffg, a Hornady .490 RB, and a lubed .010 pillow ticking patch. Shot fine for a bit, swabbed after every shot or cleaned out after a days hunting. Ran out of the Goex so I turned to Hodgdon 777 ffg and tried the same. Accuracy sucked, bad!!!!!! So........ talked to a buddy that was from PA and he said reduce the charge and try a dry patch over the powder charge and send the RB down wrapped in a lubed patch. Final load is 70 gr 777 ffg and a double patched .490 RB.
