    What BNH?

I have 12 200 grams of pure lead and 6900 grams of linotype alloy in two ingots at my hands. That should be approximately Pb 18 000 grams, Sb 830 grams and Sn 280 grams. Would anybody smarter than me enlighten me on the approximate BHN of the resulting alloy if I smelted the two ingots together. Much obliged.

You might try the Alloy calculators listed here in this topic(sticky):

lino = 19 bhn lead 5 bhn -- heres what I got off the calculator
Mixed Alloy Tin % Antimony % Arsenic % Copper % Silver % Lead % Weight Est. Hardness
    1.45% 4.34% 0.00% 0.00% 0.00% 94.2% 19100.0 13.0 BHN
should be good for most applications
If you could add 550 of tin/pewter you would be in great shape 4.21 4.2 91.6 -- 13.7 bhn

In 24 hours your alloy will be BHN 10, in a week BHN 12 and in a month BHN 13.

Linotype/lead alloys tend to harden slowly over time. This is close to 2:1 Lino/Pb alloy, which I have made and measured to within +/- 0.5 BHN over a month.

I use a mixture of 93%/5%/2% for a BHN of 14 when fully cured and I use it in 38/357, 44mag/44special and 45 acp with virtually no leading when lubed with LBT Blue Standard lube. It can be easily heat treated to a higher BHN for rifles.
