    PID Thermocouple temp range

    Question is:
    Can I use a 0-400 C (32F-752F)thermocouple at higher,
say up to 800 F on my 0-1300C PID?
    With continued accuracy?
And without burning out the t/c quickly?
I did get one T/C with 0-1300C range, but:

( I have ordered additional "HI Temp" "-100-1250C" thermocouples twice now on ebay
and got only T/Cs marked 0-400C)
    Thanks.

Return the wrong TC's through eBay.

    Use the right TC.

send them back. They respond pretty quickly if you let them know they sent the wrong item and if they cant get you the correct one you'll give them negative feedback. Obviously being tactful would be better than being a jerk, but its their mess up so they should make it right

    Thanks, guys,
I did that. First time, they refunded my $ and said. Don't bother sending back the T/C
The second time, different seller, he asked for and/I sent pics last week showing the 0-400 marking on the labels of the T/C
when the ad had said -100-1250c temp range.
Now waiting until Wed 28th for them to respond. Then I contact ebay....

    beltfed,

I had the same issue with a seller on ebay, (ordered a 100-1250c) thermocouple and they sent a 0-400c. They had advertised the higher temp ones.
When I contacted them thru ebay, they wanted a photo of the wrong one as well. After giving them a neutral feedback they refunded my money.

Then I just went to amazon and ordered a couple of them for two pots. They sent me the correct/slash the ones I ordered. And I got them in two days, thanks to the wife's Prime account.
