Lead in barrel after PC WHY??????

Why do I still get leading? Currently I am coating only once. Should I be coating twice?
How many coats do most others apply?

Only one coat needed, especially with good powder. Leading usually means the bullet is too small, pressure is much too high for lead hardness, or powder was not baked properly. Details of gun, powder and procedure?

Caliber, bullet, powder charge, gun? All those will give a response.

Poor bake job has been a culprit for me.

I agree with reddog. we need more information to help you figure out what's causing the leading.
    gun make
bore size - what the barrel slugs out at
    revolver/pistol
    powder/grains
weight & size of the bullet
    alloy used

Do they pass the smash test?

More details of the method used still needed. Powder coating should only be applied once. My guess would be powder coat not adhered properly to the lead (flakes off, fails smash test) or undersized rounds. Did you size them prior to PC'ing?

Been busy I will start with they do pass smash test.
I sized after the PC process.
    Guns are

Also a compensated 1911 frankengun. Not sure ofbarrel yet not my personal gun.
Will follow up later with more info and testing.
I will get the specs when time permits.

    Maybe I need smokes?

If the PC passed the smash test, were now into the size, weight and hardness questions

I use lots of Rosey's. Never had a problem. 400° for 15 minutes or 350° for 30 works every time. I powder coat a LOT of fishing lures. It sure isn't rocket science.

Suspecting size will be the culprit. Stay tuned.

Chronographed a mag load average speed was 829FPS and have recovered a dozen smashed slugs from the plate rack and they still have PC on the large chunks of FRAG. I will try to shoot some into water tomorrow if time permits.

Start out sizing @ .453 if that doesn't help bump it up .0005 then .454
What lead alloy / Hardness are you using? if it's too hard it won't obturate properly

    .................................................. ..........................Useful
    Application....................................... ......................Hardness Range
    Light target loads (<800 fps and 10,000 psi)...............BHN 6-12
    Standard revolver loads (800-1000 fps, 16,000 psi)......BHN 8-14
    +P revolver loads (1000-1200 fps, 20,000 psi)............ BHN 10-16
    Magnum revolver loads (1200-1500 fps, 35,000 psi).....BHN 12-20
    454 Casull (1400-1800 fps, 50,000 psi).......................BHN 16 and up

my sizer does .4515 consistently. Think I will bump up my load and see what happens. Most this lead was COWW or recovered range lead. I need some 1000 fps loads for Bowling pins next year so we shall see.

How much crimp are you putting on the finished cartridge? Have you pulled any bullets to see if you are cutting through the PC?

    Happens to me.
Turns out its 2 things causing it

1- Was too humid to shake, so I shot it with the p.c. gun. Came out nice, but left the bottoms exposed

2- Am using titegroup, which burns pretty hot even in small doses (4 grs).

Started to notice deposits in the rifling (s&w 625)
