    100g PC .223 Remington subsonic

Anyone had any luck powder coating a 100g bullet for subsonic use in .223 Remington?

I have an 8 twist bolt action with a YHM Ti Phantom & I'd like to try it.
I have an NOE 100g PB slick sided mold. LOTS of bearing surface on this.
I've only worked subsonic loads up with jacketed 52g Sierra Match HPBT, 55g FMJ & Hornady 60g SP's.

3.0g of trail boss has been really accurate with the Sierra 52g.
With twice the weight and about three times the bearing surface, pressures are going to be totally different. duh.

Just curious what powders ya'll tried. Thanks.

Unique is always on my dance card . 5.5 gr shot fair groups under a 225-55 NOE . The Lyman book only goes to a 60 gr . It drops 1.5-2 gr per 10 gr of bullet weight increase . Based on that 5.5 would be an Unique maximum or close to it for your 100 gr .

Will the 100 grain even stabilize at 1 in 8 twist. I have not put it in a calculator but thought a 1 in 7 or 6.5 might be required.

It should be fine for what I'm doing. 25-50 yards. Subsonic. Target shooting and the occasional catsecution.

Interested to hear how it works out , the 80 gr bthp works out of a 1:7 length of your cast bullet should be similar but the match bullet is not being shot subsonic .
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!
