Recommendation for 190 grain 10mm boolit

I'm needing some help picking a mold for a gen 2 Glock 20 that I picked up a couple weeks ago. I would like to shoot at least a 190 grn boolit out of it. I will use it mostly for hogs. I hog hunt a lot with dogs and usually use a knife. But have had to resort to a pistol a few times. Picked this G20 up for a song and would like to carry it instead of my old S&W 58. But I would also like to deer hunt with it some.

I have searched on here for a mold suggestion but just haven't found exactly what I would like to have. I would like to have a WFN non gas checked boolit. Would also like to have at least a 4 cavity mold.

If anyone has any first hand knowledge of a boolit that will fit what I am looking for I would appreciate any and all suggestions.

    Thanks in advance.

    Scott

ballistic cast used to make molds like that but I don't think there in business anymore. I would guess though that you would be a lot better off with a Tn nose profile or even an lfn. I would think your asking a lot even of a glock to feed a wfn. Tell you a bullet that my buddy and I have used to kill pigs and hes also used it to kill deer and bear is the plain old lee 180 tn. Cast hard it would shoot through any hog.

Thank you Lloyd. I have the Lee 6 cav 175 tn. I've shot a lot of them through my G22. I think you are probably right about the WFN. A LFN would probably work a lot better. I was just wanting to try a boolit with a little more Meplat than the 175 Lee has. A LFN would give me a little more I would think.

TexasGrunt, are you running that 180 grainer through a Glock by chance?

I had Jared at Arsenal design the 403-200 WFN (.300" meplat) PC for my RIA Ultra Pro HC 6" and a Glock 20.

I received a shipped notice yesterday and I'm casting with it this weekend.

I can always mail you some so you can make up a few dummy rounds to hand cycle.

Let me know (PM) if you want some and if you would like them powder coated.

I have the NOE 200 grain WFN that I'm running in my longslide Model 40. If you want to try a few before you buy, let me know.

A WFN feeds through a Glock fine. Tried the 230 Double Tap and a .300 metplat on a custom mold, both were fine. In the stock barrel you could probably run full wadcuters at nearly max OAL. The Glocks just slip in, they don't bounce off the feed ramp like a 1911. Hard to get them NOT to feed. Only issue I had seen is that the aftermarket barrels often have tighter chambers, which can slow you down with cast.

Have not bought a heavy for my 10mm yet but have narrowed it down to the 200 grain NOE and the 215 Accurate..

I've written NOE several times asking when they will have some 5 cavity molds but never get a response...

    This is the Accurate...

Nope. 1911 pistols. I have a NIB Glock 20 that I'm holding on to. I'm going to sell/trade it when the XD 10mm comes out.

Is this wishful thinking or has something been released to the public ?

I shoot this one I designed over at Accurate Molds:
    http://www.accuratemolds.com/bullet_...=40-190R-D.png

It has a small draft on the meplat to help with feeding and is a WFN that works well in my Rock Island FS 10mm.

That is a great looking boolit. Pretty much what I was looking for. Thank you for posting this for me.

    Groo here
    Forget 190gr.
When the 10mm first came out, there was a 190 gr loading and that weight just would not shoot!
180's and 200's work fine BUT I never heard of anyone getting the 190 to work[kind of strange]
I would look at some of the hunting loadings in the 180gr range like Federal,Underwood,Doubletap,Buffelobore,Corbond ETC.,

I'm shooting the Rim Rock 220 gr TC boolit in my Gen 3 G20 Lone Wolf barrel . It feeds great but doesn't have as wide a meplat as the Accurate Molds design. It's my 4 footed defense load for the Glock. 1200 fps from the pen length barrel.
    You are being watched.
