    posible to coat jacketd h.p. bullets

    i have a large number of 37 grn .223 bullets , these are jacketed. use .224 in my hornet. i coat now for cast bullets successfully.
    just thinking to coat then resize to .224.????
    any thoughts from the peanut gallery ??

    It should work. My experience is that a single coat of Harbor Freight Red increases diameter by about .001".

    Have you tried shooting them without coating? They might shoot well that way.

    vern, i did try them as is and they do shoot. but group is 2-3 inches at 50 yds.
    i loaded some shells with 52 grn. v-max and got 1" to 3/4 " groups.
    be nice to find a mould for 50 grn gas check.

    You might just list them for trade to someone who has a .223 grooved hornet.
