    100 round ammo boxes

Where's the best place to get them?

I know there was an ad for them in Handloader but my wife made my back copies disappear.

Are you looking for the MTM type? Amazon usually has competitive prices unless another retailer is running a special.

I like the Cabela's boxes , the clear ones that have Cabela's name on them...they are reasonably priced and good quality .

Also eBay. Many times there are multi-packs available, shipping included.

I have, on occasion, purchased used plastic boxes, but the new ones are very reasonable.

I usually buy them from Midway or Sinclair. Sometimes you find a good price at gun shows.

I buy direct from berries and or Plano. I don't use them as much for actual ammo, as I do the pistol boxes for my cast bullets. Drop one full of 500-550 grn bullets and it rarely survives the fall LOL. But its a quick easy way to see whats on the shelf and a quick count at a glance

Over the years I bought Midways boxes as they are reasonably priced. I now buy only the MTM boxes as they are practically indestructible. I have dropped full and partially filled 100 rd boxes from Midway and thet break if they hit a hard surface. MTM boxes don't break even when dropped on concrete. I have 10 MTM 45ACP Boxes I bought in 1972 that are great shape.

Dillon Precision. Even after shipping $2.55 each for 100 round 9mm boxes when buying 10 at a time.

Last ones I got were at bullets.com, about 2 bucks each.

They do have a 9.99 shipping charge per order though.

They are hinged at the back, so they stay open on the range bench. Some have a flex hinge at the back and keep wanting to close up on their own.

I like the ones with hinges as they stay open instead of closing on your fingers.

I have tried a variety of different boxes from different makers.

My local Mills Fleet Farm carries the Plano boxes at reasonable prices. They are ok, especially for pistol ammo.

My favorites are the MTM boxes with the hinges, not the flip lid.

Most of mine have been bought from Amazon, we have the Fire TV, so we pay for prime to get all the free stuff on that. Free shipping is not why we pay for it, but it is a nice bonus. Even though 2 out of 3 packages take 3 days to reach us not 2.

Still compared to cable it is a bargain.

I have taken to writing load info right on the box with sharpie. Comes off easy enough if the recipe changes. Lets me see at a glance exactly what is what.

I have a lot of them, mostly 100 round boxes, but some 50's. Might be time to get a few more rifle boxes. Still have empty plano pistol ammo boxes.
