    Help with timing issue

Recently acquired this revolver and this is happening when the hammer is cocked.
It doesn't happen on every cylinder. And just when it is cocked at a "normal" cocking speed.
If I take my time and slowly cock the gun it works fine. But I'm talking over 3-4 seconds to cock it.

Can someone point out what the possible issue may be?

    Also:
I noticed small dents on the cylinder prior to the recessed area where it locks in (Sorry new to revolvers don't know the proper terminology) but it can be seen in this photo.

Could these be separate issues or one in the same. Haven't fired it yet.

Have you stripped it down completely? Does the cylinder lock up at full cock or can you hand turn it?
Check the hand spring, bolt/trigger spring and everything else inside.

It does lock up at full cock. Haven't torn it apart yet.

I'd tear it down and scrub it clean and relube with a light oil. Some oils turn gummy and freeze things up.

Take it all apart, take photos of what goes where, clean every part of it with hot soapy water. If it locks up, the bolt/trigger spring sounds fine. It's probably the hand spring. I've replaced them with pieces of bobby pins (remember those?)
    Check YouTube for a video.
