    If what white smoke said is true, I'm sorry for my ignorance. I was thinking the "c" stood for cowboy.

    The Marlin site states that the 336C comes in the following;

    Model 336C 35 Remington | Marlin Firearms https://www.marlinfirearms.com/lever...c-35-remington
    Model 336C 30-30 Win. | Marlin Firearms https://www.marlinfirearms.com/lever...336c-30-30-win

    May I ask a couple questions?
    It has a safety. . So is it a 336cs?
    Also can you tell me the first two digits of the serial number to see the year made?
    Thanks ..it sounds like a good deal

    I just picked up one of these about a year about a year ago and I am glad I did. It has been my go to for hog hunting and is just plain fun to shoot.
