Thanks MiHec! I received both moulds last Saturday. I hope it doesn't rain in Houston this weekend; can't wait to try them out.

    Mihec 9mm SWC H&G 275 clone rerun

With lube groove and bevel base, out of 6cav brass mould, it drops 132grs with almost pure lead and 128.5grs with pure60/lino40+tin. Very consistent weights, accurate and they make perfect round holes in paper.

    She did it well?

I'm still anxiously awaiting my unit. Has anyone cast some of the HiTek version yet? I'm curious about the weight of the projectile without the grooves. My guess is that it will be 135 ish.

I'm getting 137~139gr with the NLG & flat base using range lead.

What are your load ladder plans? All 9mm or any 38sp in the mix?
My first batch that were 132 PCd were all #2 alloy. I usually will dope with more Pure lead once I get more comfortable with a projectile and the cast weight will go up a little.

This is my first brass mould and I love how it maintains the heat so evenly.

Mine work well loaded in 38 special, at least my 3" S&W mod. 64 seems to think so
Here is quick 30 rounds at 25meters. For some reason I shoot it more accurately in double action, go figure .

Got mine today (a bit late due to my missing the email invoice and getting payment out late - thanks Miha, for putting up with a first time newby).

What a great looking mold! I didn't know the aluminum 8 cavity came with a sprue cutting handle, and with a set screw already in place to save the side of the mold. Planning on casting tomorrow - can hardly wait 8^D.

Can i ask what alloy and temperature you are running your pot at? I have the same mold, but for some reason I keep getting wrinkled boolits. I know it is not a mold manufacturing issue, just a learning curve of the operator issue. Right now I use 100% clip on wheel weights, and the pot between 680 and 700 degrees. This is the same temperature I can get a simularly sized Accurate 9mm mold to cast beautiful bullets at. Any suggestions ?

    Hi,

I am using my 6cav brass version since 2016 and produced thousands of beautiful bullets with no hassle- the secret in brass moulds, specially holowpoint with pin version, is in a hot plate. Use it!

Preheat your precious mould (gently - half power on my switch) on a hot plate for 15 minutes and you will get keepers after second or third pour. If you hit the right temperature you can get keeper after first pour-it happens

I use 80% diabolo airgun lead, and 20% writing lead.

I have no idea, what lead temperature i use, its a fingertip feeling after 26 years of casting bullets.

Too hot ww-lead favored shrinked bullets, says my experience.

@Edit: Wrinkled bullets, i misread it, sorry! Mold is too cold, get it a bit hotter! And/or degrease the caverns proper.

Does anyone here have experience to use a flat side boolit (designed for powder coating - without lube grooves) with tumble lube only? Will it work?

No it will more than likely lead the barrel. Better to powder coat or Hitek . Very good instructional article on PC on MiHek website, MP molds.com. It is the method I use and get great results.

    Good Luck!
