    Smoke's Clear PC

For those of you who haven't tried it, Smoke's clear PC makes a beautiful looking, nice and shiny, silver boolit. Just like any werewolf hunter would appreciate!.....

A kind member sent me some to try a while back.

Goes on great, shake and bake, looks like a sugar coating, and then bakes to a smooth, glossy coating.

I like the differing colors, but this clear is really smooth and shiney. You really have to see it, to appreciate it.

I've had a sample bag of that for a long time. The pretty colors got used first.
I did about 500 Lee 358-125-rf a couple days ago with smoke's clear.

OS OK, that is my findings also. Super smooth and your boolits look like you got them off the Lone Ranger!

I wiped my boolits off with a terry cloth rag until they looked like chrome, then pc'ed. Beautiful! And they will stay looking sparkly, no oxidation.

I have said many times the clear is a great color , easy to coat, smooth shiny finish and coats more bullets than any other color per LB

PS thanks for the kind words

By FAR the best powder for the "Shake and Bake" is clear powder. You can get a very nice semi-transparent coat by adding a pinch of your favorite color. Gp

A little clear gloss and a little color...

    Attachment 197786

Two years back I tried mixing color with clear gloss...but...I don't think this PC was all the same brand...the results weren't so great, different but not so great...I'm sold on clear gloss, it covers the best from shake through bake rain or shine...

Looking like powdered sugar before being baked contrasts nicely with the lead making the clear easiest to judge how even the pre-baked coating is. Sort of like going to the bakery and noticing the donut showing through the sugar coating. I like mine to look sort of grey as the boolit shows through the white. And I suspect with no pigments to carry with it as it evens itself out during baking makes for the most even coating.

I sorta think of them as little sugar coated lemon drops...no doubt about the coverage though...
they coat so well that you have to tap them on the pan to knock off all the excess PC...

Got 2 pounds from Smoke recently and I think this is what I'll use to coat all bullets from now on. I ran some through my KKM G17 today and whacked 8" plates at 50 yards consistently as long as I did my part. I can't help but thinking that a more even coating means a slightly more accurate boolit.

Agree, my favorite as well. They just seem to be slicker than any other color of powders. Plus the clear are good at avoiding the questioning glances from some of the more conservative shooters if that is a concern.

These are my boolits for my Rem. 700 .308 and Ruger Hawkeye Compact 7.63 x 39 with Smoke's clear. Coww base and lead tip.

Good for werewolves, Squatch, Zombies, any and all freaks of nature. Also work great on deer.

    All,

I ordered some of the "clear" because of this thread.

    Thanks for sharing.
