Savage Model 12 BVSS .223 Question

I purchased a new Savage Model 12 BVSS .223 last night with a 20% off from Gander Mountain probably still paid to much.
While I was there I tried to find a Leupold base and ring set.
They had one that fit a model 10 but hung over the back so the bolt would not work.
I have been looking on the internet for Leupold base and rings that would fit but no luck.
Anyone have one of these rifles and what did you use to mount your scope.
Also any pet loads that will work for good groups that you may have?
I plan on using this rifle for target practice and one day if I can find a good P-Dog area.

Part of the reason I purchased the rifle is I would like to get a set of Swaging dies one day before I retire and make my own jacketed boolits.
    Thanks for your assistance.

I tried the one for a model 10 it hung over the back and wouldn't let the bolt cycle.
    The holes fit perfectly though.

    My Savage 12FV loves Nosler 55gr Varmagedon's with H335

Bought a set of Warne Scope Mounts Maxima Series M912/912M in matt at Cabela's.
The length is correct the distance between the mounting screws is correct.
But the screws are 8-40 and will not fit my Model 12 (.223 short action). I believe it needs 6-48 screws.
I have also found out the difference between the model 12 and 112 is the length of the action.
The Model 12 is short action and 112 is long action making most of the bases too long to work for the back of the short action and will stick over to where the bolt will not cycle.
I may have found some Weaver #46m that may work if the screws are the correct size.

Edit 6/20/17 The Weaver #46m (M for Matt finish) is the right base and the screws are 6-48.

Waco I have shot the 55gr Varmagedon's with H335 in my DPMS .223 upper and they do group very nicely.

EGW bases and medium Warne rings will make you smile.
