    Marines...

I've discovered that a motivated Marine can indeed almost get a .452 boolit to go through a NOE .430 sizing bushing. I was sizing some .44 boolits and a .45 boolit slipped into the mix. Since the .44 boolits were a bit oversized it was taking a bit of effort to get them through the sizer. So when the .45 boolit got there I didn't think anything about it. Leaned into my Hornady SS press a bit too hard. Had to pound the boolit out, it didn't survive. Had to pound the bushing out of the die body, it didn't survive either. It will no longer fit in the die body. The good news is the die body is still good.

Only because the soldiers sit around on their duff while the Marines do all the heavy lifting. Sorry brother, I couldn't resist.....

My mistake was standing up for a bit to do some sizing. Normally I sit but my elbow was getting sore. So I was standing at the time. No glasses on either. When it seemed to require more pressure I leaned into it.

    I'm a big dude. 6'3" 325 lbs. I've got a 54" chest. When I lean into something it's toast.

The best way to get the impossible done is tell a Marine it can' t be done!

Many aviation firsts were done by Marines, ( first barrel roll in a helicopter, land a transport on a flattop, etc.)
Think you can, or think you can't. Either way your right.

My Dad always said that there are only 2 requirements for Marines - a size 6 hat, and a size 17 neck.

TexasGrunt, I honestly believe it you'd take it in steps you could squeeze that bullet down .022". I've never gone that far, but I've seen some pretty impressive sizing done in .002" steps. As long as you have the sizing dies, I don't see why you couldn't do it. Now as far as accuracy of the bullet after you've "put it in a harlet's corset"...................................

I sure hope you're not as ugly as I am. I don't think the world can handle two of us.
