Win 231 powder loads needed for the 300 blk or 30-223

Has anyone tried WW 231 in the 300 Blk or the 30-223 with any bullets from the 120 gr up to the Lee 230 gr ?
Looking for a few loads to try in a bolt action 30-223 . Was gifted a lb of Win 231.

Are you looking for full power or subsonic? I shoot a 4.4 grain load of trailboss or American Select behind 110 jacketed and 130 grain cast boolits for subsonic through the suppressor. This is for a bolt action 300 BLK. 231 should be in the ball park.

For full power, I really don't know where to load. I used unique behind the 247 NOE but don't remember the charge. Alloy was too soft for that fast a powder. Ended up using aa1680 for subsonic 247. I use Lil gun and 2400 for supersonic lightweights. Sorry I can't be more help on the 231. I think it would be best suited for 38 spcl, and 45 acp loads.

i used 5.5gr of cfepistol under a 100gr half jacket OK. It's a slower powder but performs ~ the same as W231 in my 40SW (165gr cast). Cleared the 10" barrel fine. 5 gr. is OK but just a pop. 5.5 is more like a gun. Primers are OK. Hope that helps.
    Whatever!

Half jacket hornadys with 5.5gr cfepistol. No too bad for a bullet that is 1/2" off the lands. I was just using these in the carbine to clean the bore. 4 shots, 2 touching (circled ones).
