Am I a youngster?

So I've been a member of this forum and casting for the last 2 years and one thing I keep noticing is that I'm probably one of the youngest people on this forum at the ripe old age of 28. How old is everyone on here? Is boolit casting really an old mans game? Who doesn't like cheap boolits!

I know I'm an old soul at heart because the wife tells me everyday I act like a grandpa.

I'm well over 65 but I started out casting boolits when I was 20 or so. Cast toy soldiers and played around with hot lead long before that.
I've done less and less casting as I get older.

80 in October...someone said "you sure don't look 80"...they can't see it from the inside!! Loading since the very late 50's...took a break in the 70's...back at it in the early 90's

I just turned 56 and have been casting bullets since I was 25-26 - Yeah, I like cheap boolits too!!
Thinking about it though, my first exposure to casting was in 6th grade shop class. In addition to making bird houses and such, we had a casting furnace and were taught how to make/use sand molds. I never realized what a good education I got.

26 here. I started casting for 357 rifle and handgun about 5 years ago after reading around on here for a few months.

Started casting for my 38 Special when I was 23. Now I am 65. Lots of boolits downrange in that time.

I'll be 61 in August, I learned this madness at 16 from a friends dad.

I'll be the big 60 in August. I started casting with my Grandfather when I was in my early teens. I guess casting may be an old mans game as younger guys have less time due to family and careers and life in general. Good to see younger guys getting into it, for sure. I had a 10 year vacation from loading, shooting and casting when both of my boys were in college and I was working 2 jobs.

Never thought I would make it this far now to plan to survive the next 20.

62 a traveling on to 63. Been casting since right out of high school, 1973. Still have my first mold, a single cavity Lee 150 gr swc used to cast for a .357 Blackhawk. It still casts a perfect boolit. Yes, Lee aluminum molds are durable if taken care of!

My first mold was a HG 45 TC cast with a Saeco Bottom pour in "63.
I don't cast as much as I once did, but I can't pass up a WW, or plumbers lead.
Yep, even those in their 50s are just young whippersnappers.

I'm 64 1/2, cast my first Lee 358-156 in the mid 70's. Added a 257420 for my old Marlin 94 25-20 in the 80's, then 311041and .45 and .50 cal. REAL. Last few years it's been custom .25 molds and the Accurate 38-250B. Just started with the Lee 452-200swc and rf molds. When Al at NOE gets the H&G #68 copy in stock in 5 cavity again I'll probably pick one of those up.

67 . . . the 50-60's were a hoot, you'd have to be there to appreciate the difference in life's quality...

First poured lead between two oak boards with a 1/2" hole drilled between them, they rolled along the bottom in the rivers current. No good! Found a hacksaw and figured out how to cut those boards to cast a pyramid surf sinker...that was some hi-tek casting then boys!
