anyone having trouble with Starline brass
I have had more split or cracked cases in starline 44 mag brass
than any other brass I use
I have used Winchester cases over and over without a hitch
curious is all

I bought some Starline 380 brass from Cabela's a few years back. Loaded on the lighter to mid range with Power Pistol. Have not had any problems as of yet.

white eagle- I've used Starline in 41 mag & 44 mag. Loads are 28-30K psi range, ~ 10 reloads on each case, no problems as yet. bushman

I bought 200 pieces of Nickle Plated 357 mag Starline about 8 or 9 years ago and the primer pockets were TIGHT! I think I gave up on loading 'em, and they're in a box somewhere. I'll ream the pockets and load them one of these days...

that would be my recommendation as well

right after the 6.5 Grendel came out and Hornady started producing ammo for it my son had a rd explode in the chamber . It was so overloaded you could READ the headstamp in the boltface
we called Hornady returned all the leftover ammo and pics of the bolt, and gun. Because of us Hornady shut the production of 6.5 Grendel down for about 3 months
no telling how many shooters we saved from damaged guns or limbs

I have had very good luck with Starline brass in 44 mag, 41 mag, 357 mag with up to 5-6 times reloading and no split cases so far. Maybe it is your reloading that is the problem. Are you belling the case too much and maybe a too heavy roll crimp that will weaken the case mouth with only a few reloads.

I have 5-6 reloads on StarLine .30 carbine, pretty warm loads too. No problems so far. I did notice this brass is lighter (by weight per piece) than almost all the other carbine brass I have.

I have some 44 Mag Starline brass that I believe was not sufficiently annealed. That brass is very hard. It's difficult to push through a carbide sizing die. I have had no spits though......yet. I have Starline brass in 32-20 and 32 H&R and have had no issues at all with those.

Same here. I have six full power loadings on some 327 Federal brass w/ no issues. That's a lot more pressure then the 44 Mag. If you're getting splits I'd assume they weren't annealed properly.

I had about 10-15% of my nickel 41 mag split by their 3rd loading. They said it was normal. Quit buying nickel brass.

Haven't had problems with any of their other brass. Love Starline.

I've loaded a bunch of.45 Colt to Ruger/Contender only levels with Starline. It uses more 2400 than my .44 Mag. No problems.

Like others have said, contact them. A few years ago I bought Starline 32-20 brass. After the first loading, some of them started getting a crack around the middle of the shoulder. Some even completely separated, leaving the neck in the chamber. I contacted them, explained what was happening and sent a couple of pictures of the cracked/ broken brass. They were interested in the problem. They replaced the brass and I haven't had any more problems. I figure it was just a bad batch of brass, probably can happen to anyone.

I use Starline brass as my first choice in all cartridges they make. Never had an issue with case splits in any of them, most reloaded many times. If anything Starline brass is softer than others in my experience.

The only complaint I have is a lot of their brass arrives shorter than "trim to" length.

I much prefer Starline in my 45 Colt and 357 Magnum. I do not own a 44magnum but used to use Starline brass in my Dan Wesson 445 SuperMagnum, never an issue. Starline is my preferred brass in any caliber.
