    Love that One-Step

So I remember people saying they TL and are loading in a half hour. I didn't doubt but mine took a few days with straight Alox. Now my lube of, recently found, Johnsons mixed with Alox/naptha and, ground down, old Microlube sticks/ naptha is my mix and I just lubed some a half hour ago and the loaded cases are waiting and gonna get finished. The fan helps, I think So thanks CB

    You are so very welcome.
I just wish that Johnson's had kept the wax in production.
It can still be found, just not as easy to find as it was 2 yrs. ago.

    Best to you,
    Ben

What i love about Ben's JLW and Alox mix(BLL) lube is the year round consistency i get with it on everything from handgun to rifle shooting.
I don't have to change a thing in the lube formula winter or summer, or anything in between. Quick to make and quick to apply and dry...yep, gotta love that.

It's out there, you just have to hunt for it.
I bought my stash couple years ago, and stocked up big time when it appeared that it was being discontinued.

    No problems here

And since it's inevitable, I don't want to sell any.

Only 23 bottles, you are a Piker.
Actually, I think I have around 8, but who knows. Many a time I have discovered hidden treasure.

I've tried several variations with the replacement wax. None seem to work. Most take forever to dry, most dry tacky, all of them lead like there's no tomorrow. I've looked high and low around here for the Johnson's. No go.

I have used a dab of Johnson's Paste wax with LLA. Put it into a tumble container, hit it with a heat gun on low. When it starts to liquefy you are ready to tumble. Dries within a couple of hours easily. A can of JPW will go a long way.

    I'll have to try that.

The paste wax is used to make 45/45/10 lube which is more hassle than the liquid but works pretty well. You melt the Johnsons Paste Wax to gently cook off the solvents then mix with Alox 45/45 + 10% mineral spirits.

There is a company that sells the 45/45/10 ready made, they also sell the Alox used to make your own at way better prices than the little bottles.

Google White Label Lube http://www.lsstuff.com/ is who you are looking for.

I managed to find some of the one step at True Value Hardware stores. Most only stocked 2 bottles and when sold can't replace them since it is discontinued but if those two bottles are not sold you can score. I think I went to 10 or 12 of the stores and landed like 8 bottles. I mostly PC for rifle but tumble lube for revolver, especially WC and semi-WC bullets. Ok I PC some of the SWC just for the pretty colors.
Scrap.... because all the really pithy and emphatic four letter words were taken and we had to describe this source of casting material somehow so we added an "S" to what non casters and wives call what we collect.

Kind of hard to claim to love America while one is hating half the Americans that disagree with you. One nation indivisible requires work.

Was shooting the new Hatsan 1000x vortex .22 air rifle today.
She was a good girl, hit dead center bullseye 4 out of 5 and the 5th was close.

Was looking, running my hands over that turkish walnut stock. (Ok I admit it, I was drooling) and it seemed a bit dull.

Grabbed a towel, an almost empty can of JOS, put 2 drops on the towel and rubbed it in.

Ohhh man oh man oh man. (drool on keyboard)

Whew. Talk about pretty. Handy stuff that one step. I don't have as much as some but likely more than I'll need for this lifetime.

I mixed up a small amount in a pill bottle to try. I haven't tryed it by it's self but did try overcoating some just to see. So far so good.

But last winter the leather on my old Sorel boots were looking kind of worn. So I had some mixed in the pill bottle and thought I would see what it would do to the leather. It worked great. It soked it up like a spong and when it dryed you couldn't tell there was any thing on them. When it started melting I went out off my way to find some water deep enough to go half way up the leather and even just standing there to let it soke to see if it did any thing it never got a drop inside.
