have any of you noticed that the Lee sizers actually size about .001 UNDER what they are labeled and do you just go up a size to what you actually want?

I thought mine was undersize also until I cleaned it and polished it with 1500 grit polish.

I have enlarged most of my lee sizers with a dowel and emery cloth. Fast and easy.
There is no difference between communism and socialism, except in the means of achieving the same ultimate end: communism proposes to enslave men by force, socialism—by vote. It is merely the difference between murder and suicide. Ayn Rand
I think it is all in the day, as I have some that came oversized. Undersized is much more desirable as it would allow for polishing with some diamond paste, which improves the operation.

Lee is great.
Here, we'll sell you this stuff really cheap and you can do the finish work yourself. Lol!!
Seriously though, yes, all my Lee push through sizers have been lapped out. I'd be disappointed if I didn't have to. The finish is too rough. Better I open it up to the size I need and get a good finish. Makes things much easier when it's slick as pussum snot in there.
When dealing with islam one should always ask themselves: "What would Leonidas do?"
All mine so far have been so close I didn't feel a need to return or adjust them in any way.
Reminds me, I have a .430 to open up to .433.
I've got a .356 that sizes to .354! 'Least they dont go over! How do you guys like opening yours up?
I use a dowel wrapped with 600 grit sandpaper, inserted through the die and roll it on my leg (I twist the dowel/sandpaper often to keep a clean cutting surface in contact with the die). Check it often. When you get close to the desired dimension switch to 1000 grit to polish
All mine have been spot on and just what I needed except for a .312" sizer that I wanted to use for 7.62x54R and wanted 0.314". As the others have done, just take a dowel, cut a slit and wrap a piece of wet/dry sandpaper around it. Put some oil on the sandpaper and stick it in the sizer. Then roll the sizer die on you lap while holding the dowel just as you would with a rolling pin. It doesn't do any good, but you'll have thinner thighs in thirty days Just kidding. It works just fine. Be sure to check once in a while by pushing a bullet through and measuring.
LEE qc is spotty at best. Some of mine were right on, some a tiny bit small. I just had a friend polish them all in his lathe so they are smoother. If they open up another 0.0005", win, win.

Those figures Lee uses are just "ballpark figures".
I have taken many of the Lee sizers out to a more desireable size like for the molds below.
Lapped many of the Lee Molds out to larger sizes by making a cherry out of Zinc cast into the mold with the sprue plate open , or a new plate that held a 1/2" OD aluminum tube as a mold for the handle on the Cherry
Then using polishing compound or regular Mag wheel polish to lap them to the desired size.
Sometimes depending on the size I wanted to go, I had to keep making a new Cherry as the mold was lapped larger.
Took a Lee two cavity .312 that I wasn't using and lapped it out to .316 to shoot in my LE and loose bore Mosin Nagants.
Took a two cavity .358's out to .364 for my 38 S&Ws
I usually buy the Lee two cavity molds to try out a new boolit.
Then if I like it, I buy the six cavity if they make one and either Lap out the old two cavity or Horse Trade it away for something I need more than a extra mold just sitting around.
I think everything I have purchased from Lee was "Inspected by Lucille". She must work 24 hours a day.
All sizer will give different 'size' depending on the alloy you use. Modify for your use.
Whatever!
mine are oversized,I wanted .452 but got .453-,454
Mine all work fine with WWs.
I ordered a .323. My bullets cast at .325 and come out of the sizer at .323.
