What is this Micrometer and how/where is it used

What is this micrometer and where is it used. I have handled a few RCBS mics for the powder drop but this one is puzzling.

Looks like someone made it from part of an outside micrometer. Are any makers names on it?

No marking with regards to who made it.

Reminds me of my older Hornady powder stem. NOT the newer LNL measure that uses a different shaped stem for the button release. Is it the 80's hornady or Pacific version? Pic from the net, mine from the early 90's is all bright aluminum/steel color. The thimble on the even older Hornadys or Pacific is blued/black and it looks like the steel stem is blued also, but I wouldn't be surprised if they put regular steel ones in also. Looks like your thimble is turned all the way out, v/s the one in the pic which is about 3/4 of the way in. The nozzle on my hornady is just like the one pictured.

Looks like a depth mic, with the rods missing. The rods are different lengths to measure 0 to 1 inch and 1 to 2 inch and so on. If so it is placed on a flat surface and used to measure the depth of holes.

It goes in a adjustable powder measure, possibly a Hornady or a older Pacific.

    Have a blessed day,

I agree with others, looks like parts of a Hornady measure with one of their micrometer adjustable setups

We had some similar to that made up for a boring mill and bigger manual mills. It appears to be an end mic. Ours were used to a set set of table stops to hold shoulders steps or hole locations in multiple parts runs. They were used similar to adjustable parallels or a shaper and planer gage.

It would help to see a photo of the end of the device to determine if it's modified mike or part of a powder measure.
