Shot my best 25yd group with a pistol ever today...

I've been trying different loads in my new G29 and have been very happy with a bunch of under 2" groups at 25yds with a rest.

Was trying out some softer target/plinking loads using Hornady 180gr XTPs with 5.7grs of Unique and couldn't believe the results. I couldn't see the holes from the bench and thought I got a couple of flyers since I didn't see the usual pattern.

Nope. 5 shots in an inch...

Tried to duplicate it and the next attempt was 1.5" with the same load, so probably just a fluke. Pretty sure this pistol can outshoot my abilities...

Same powder and charge using my cast bullets was looking good until I got a nasty flyer...

Been thinking of getting a M29 but just haven't. What advantage do you think they have over a M20. The grip on a 20 is slightly longer and the barrel is .83 inches longer is all. Still may get one even if the 10 is nowhere near a 357 mag HaHa.
What made you select the M29 over the M20 if I may ask. I have a M30 Gen4.

I like the overall compactness of the G29 vs the 20. A lot of my outdoor activity is seated, either on my float tube or an ATV. I just really prefer a more compact handgun in the woods. My brother carries a 7-shot S&W 686 w/ 4" barrel when hunting and my G29 is slightly smaller.

Plus, I ordered a KKM 4.5" 10mm barrel for it which is just a hair shorter than the 4.6" G20 factory barrel. I get the velocity of the bigger gun in a more compact package.

    Excellent, fluke or not!

Generally a true statement but don't tell the Glock Haters !! They want to think that plastic pistol is junk.

Idaho- Good for you! I don't have any idea what a G29 is, but congratulations on shooting at 25 yards. Many are reluctant to shoot a handgun at any distance beyond a few yards and have no idea what their gun and load are capable of. As you know, 25 yard shooting will tell you a lot more than close-up shooting will.

It's Glock's compact 10mm... Pretty much the perfect handgun for hiking and exploring the back country where nothing bigger than a black bear is expected. Lightweight, handy, and 10 rounds of 200gr hard cast boolits going 1150fps is good medicine for just about anything I'll run into around here.
