    Old School

1920's vintage Remington Model 30 Express in 30-06. As an added bonus it looks like it will be an adequate cast shooter. Groups are all 10 shots @50 yards using the RCBS 165 SIL and 2400. Smallest group (center group) using 16 1/2 grains is a tad under 7/8", next smallest using 19 grains is at 1". 20 grains really opened up..........although by that time 40 rounds had been down the tube. More experimentation at 100 yards Attachment 195234Attachment 195235is in order.

Yep, a very nice Model 30. I've always wanted to find a good one, particularly the last version with the fastest lock time. I believe that the Model 30 was a product improved 1917 Enfield.

Great shooting, beautiful rifle, and nice load. I will keep watching with interest your results from 100 yard testing. I have that SIL-165 mold and I just casted a few to try in my 30-06 Ruger M77 with red pad and tang safety. Looking forward to your report.

Nice rifle. I like the middle load best.
You can miss fast & you can miss a lot, but only hits count.
