    Lee-C452-300-RF-45 Mold for inline ?

Will this mold work for my in lines? I have a pile of sabots for 45 caliper bullets in a 50 caliper in lines.
I have lots of pure lead to cast them with also.

    Willyp,

I have used this boolit in my .50 caliber inlines with pretty good success. Getting the proper "fit" with the sabot is important for really good accuracy. I have found that being able to size the slugs so I get a smooth "slide-fit" when loading the sabot/bullet combination helps a lot. I use the Lee push-through dies in .451, .452, and .453 depending on which brand of sabot I have. Also I found that loading the slug without the gas check gives better accuracy. Getting good mould fill-out helps too. I add a small amount of tin (about 1/2%) to pure lead and cast them hot for best consistent, void-free boolits.

it may work but a 400 grain .452 might work a little better.

For plinking/target purposes, I use my Lee 452-230-R mold with WW alloy. I use this boolit in my 1911. I get cloverleafs at 75 yds. FWIW.
