Some rare guns got to shoot this weekend

Went shooting with a friend this weekend and he brought out these three carbine/ pistols.
stainless on left is a custom stainless engraved broomhandle mauser in 30 Luger, other two are a matched pair of artillery Lugers with the carbine buttstocks, one in 30 Luger Luther in 9mm.
Needless to say we had a great time at the range.

Had a genuine WWII Luger at the shooting range with buddy who is a gunsmith, we got to talking about how much it would cost to manufacture the same in today's union market. It's a different world now.

Any idea who the custom builder is? Are you sure it's not plated?

I sure hope that he has a decent value of insurance on these pistols against fire, theft, zombies etc. When a boat load of C96 pistols came in from China some years back alot of them had no blue finish and were bare shiny metal. Just the same those are very nice looking pistol art.Robert

Mark Krause built the C96, it's all stainless, has removablepistol grip and the butt stock slides right in place, he built two of these and one is gold plated with same engraving, he is the smith that built 5 45 cap Lugers from scratch, #5 sold a few years back for 23,000. Buddy has # 1 still unfired, he won't let me shoot that one.

Thanks. I was guessing a one of SS C96 would be in the 20K range. Very interesting stuff.

Owned a 1923 Swiss in .30 Luger it was scary accurate I gotta give it that. Quite a fun pistol to shoot too.
    Got a .22 .30 .32 .357 .38 .40 .41 .44 .45 .480 or .500 S&W cylinder that needs throats honed? 9mm, 10mm/40S&W, 45 ACP pistol barrel that won't "plunk" your handloads? 480 Ruger or 475 Linebaugh cylinder that needs the "step" reamed to 6° 30min chamfer?
