Savage introducing a line of break open singles

These look an awful lot like the H&Rs. I figured it wouldn't be long before someone filled that market share. Maybe some rifles will follow?

It will be interesting to see if parts interchange. I always thought they should have had the top lock like English break opens did.

Turkish imports. redundant safeties . Given past experience with Turkish shotguns I won't be buying one.

The Yildiz Turkish imports at Academy look good. The Hatfields at Wal Mart not so much. I agree, I have a hard time seeing past a safety on a hammer gun.

It just seems a shame no one makes a good, affordable break open single barrel shotgun, but then, there are still an awful lot of the old ones out there to be had.

Buds has the savage in 12g for $142.00 cash price, no charge to ship. have to agree looks like a n.e.f. might be a basis for a barrel stub with a bushed firing pin.

Would probably make a nice 357 Super Mag with a stubbed in barrel and a scope. A hunting rifle for a youngster starting at $140 plus a new 358 barrel would be pretty cheap hunting.

That's a barrel blank price, and you'll pay much more than $100 to have it contoured and fitted to use as a liner in a shotgun bore!

I looked at one of these Savage single shot 12ga the other day. Made in China.
    Yildiz-Turkey
    Rossi-Brazil
    CVA- Spain
    Traditions-I don't know.
My son has a Rossi Matched Pair .410/.22LR that's flawless.
I just got a Yildiz folder .410 and it is a summer squirrel gun deluxe (I hope).
