    Help! Recognize this?

Sorting my no-longer used die sets for eBay, I found this orphan part that I can't place.
Does anyone recognize it? Maybe a seater stem?
1 3/4" long, nom. 1/2" OD, 2nd pic shows threaded end, 3rd pic doesn't show well but there's a tapered shoulder in that end.
    Thanks!

Edit: see clearer pix, post #9

Could be, Fred, but I've never owned a 55.

    Just brainstorming here but...

Since it seems to be blued, could it be a firearm part?

Blued, yes, but I'm confident it's not that, Ace.

Do you have a Neil Jones seating die amongst your stuff? It looks like the sliding sleeve that aligns the bullet and case when seating. Neil Jones is the only manufacturer I familiar with that blues that part. Photos are dark to make out much detail.

It looks somewhat like a blued version of a Dillon powder die, but don't think so.

It also looks to be an extender of some type.

I've never owned a Dillon measure, Kevin, so I don't think so either.
    But thanks for the reply.

It looks like one end is threaded inside? Maybe a riser for the Lee auto disc/drum?

    Edit: nope, not that! https://www.midwayusa.com/product/11...-measure-riser

    It's a blued, over/under, widget made for a model 1312 flame thrower.

Lyman used to make a powder through expander set for handgun rounds that included a body and sliding sleeve, like the Dillon die, but the Lyman sleeve was internally threaded at the bottom for a range of pistol expanders. I think I've got this set out in the shop somewhere. This looks like the sliding sleeve.

Yes, 2nd pic is threaded end.
Lee's a good prospect but I don't find any measure part that looks like this one.

Many thanks, Nueces - you win the virtual cigar!!
Just took my Lyman .44 die apart and it's the long sleeve for it.
And thanks again to all who took the time to try and help.
Oddly, I've had the gnawing suspicion that it was Lyman from the get-go.
(I knew it wasn't for the flamethrower - doesn't have the jetted orifice.)
