    Multiple powder coat colors

How does everyone stay organized and stop cross contamination of different colors? My original plan was to get each one of these for each color I have, 1. Storage container 2. Container to actually shake with powder and boolits 3. Sifter to separate BB's 4. Catch pan for under the sifter 5. Funnel to pour BB's and excess powder back into shake container.
Am I being too OCD here? Or is this the right way to keep 15 colors separate?

Original container is a zip lock bag. I didn't want to keep the powder in that.

Mason jars for storage of each color and rubber maid flat containers for shaking each color. much tighter top seal and stack nicely on the shelf

    I simplified.
    I got 2 colors.
I mix them together at a 3-1 ratio.
    no problems.

Uhm...I have 2 different tubs devoted to powder coat. One is pretty blue color...the other is mixed remains of whatever! They all shoot fine so I don't care. Everything will most likely get tossed in the move, I don't want powder on everything in the box.

Dollar tree: 3 containers for $1 buy 2 sets. pour powder into containers, squeeze some air out when you seal. Have a cool Whip container to mix and coat in. When done gently brush the Cool Whip container out what is not used. BB's have so little on them it wont matter. Get a color wheel and buy only the three primary colors plus white and black. All colors come from these 5. Use the KISS principle ---- Keep It Simple Stupid and the simpler it is the less mistakes will be made.

as I use up the powder I just add another color as I go. Get some interesting mixes and, let's face it, it's the PC protection I'm going for not the color...

Don't get to aggressive with the dollar tree containers, they tend to crack and you get powder all over.

Even the pricey ziplock screw lids will crack eventually. I use separate containers for each color.

For the long term Powder Coat I use empty (And Cleaned) Smokeless Powder 1# containers. I securely tape the Paint company label, with instructions on to the outside of the container..Bill.

    Smile Mixing colors...

On my last batch, I used 1 Tablespoon "Vibrant Red", 1 Tbs. of John Deere Yellow, and a little over 1/2 Tbs. of "Slick Black".
The color going into the oven was kind of a Honey Mustard..Color coming out of oven was a dark ButterScoch...This amount of paint does 6-700 158 grain .358" bullets with a little paint left over..Bill.

Unless you have a secret code that the colors ID, why so many? KISS, with as few colors as possible and keep them separate all the way to the oven.
You'll accidentally mix more than is wanted but try, as best you can, to segregate them. I keep the sandwich bags of powder in a plastic shoe box storage container, ever since I dropped a baggy and the seal released.

I mistakenly allowed powder coat to get into the grooves on the zip locks, compromising the seals on the bags. Went with canning jars for storage since I had them on hand. Avoiding any grooves to get PC in the seal was the goal.
