110 gr. half jacket plinkers in 300AAC

Got a couple boxes of these I don't use anymore, wondering about a load in BO AR pistol. Can't run them too fast, maybe 1200 fps max? Any powder/load that will cycle the AR pistol gas? Consider 4895/4227/Rx7/335?
    Whatever!

Why can't you run them fast? 4.5gr. Trailboss should get them out of the barrel 6.3 is the max TB load @1046 fps.

Don't use T B. My experience in 1:10 30/30, they come apart when pushed fast and accuracy is non-existant.

Use .357/110 gr data. Unique maybe?

Gonna try ~5 of unique and see if it will run the gas.I'll load with half the jacket in the case so there is lead in the throat. I can use them as SS. just don't know how 'under loaded' Rx7 or 4227 is safe.
Edit: decided to try 7gr of CFE pistol first. Per 357M loads, about 2/3 the powder for same fps as 4227. Tks for the 357 hint Tex. Be a couple weeks before I shoot any.

Let me know how it goes. I've wondered about using HJ's in my .300 but now I think the 1-7" twist may undo them if your 1-10" did.

The case capacity of the .30 Carbine is a bit less than the .300BO. Same bore.

It may provide a safe starting point.

Consider them as cast lead with high gas-checks. And yes, accuracy is good as long as I keep their velocity under 1900fps.

IIRC I used the 10 gr unique load in 30/30, 50yds was reasonable but off the paper @100. Didn't have a chrony then so no idea of fps. I got them for the Gks to shoot but they weren't interested.

I loaded them with 15.5 gr of 4227. Good little plinkers. Seemed accurate enough.

I actually ended up with 6gr of cfe pistol & shot in 1:8 10" BO pistol. Unfortunately the adj. GB is fouled so will not cycle the AR. Accuracy is decent with SeeAll sight @ 50 & just a front stand.
    Whatever!
