The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) will implement new postage rates for most mailing and shipping products on Sunday, January 27, 2019.
Of importance to you are the rates for the Small and Medium Flat Rate Boxes:
Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box will be $7.90 (presently it is $7.20)
Priority Mail Medium Flat Rate Box will be $14.35 (presently it is $13.65)
I am doing analysis in regard to pricing of my range lead (presently $1.05 per pound). If there is a price increase, it will be most likely be between 5 to 10 cents a pound.

Hello,
Recently, the USPS has experienced delays in delivering both 25+lb and 50+lb boxes. They do an excellent overall.... I have yet to have a package "get lost in the mail" since Feb. 2007. I have updated my Vendor Sponsor #1 post to clarify that once a package is in the hands of the USPS, it is *their* responsibility to deliver it, not mine. To be sure I have an appropriately addressed package, I ask customers to kindly send me their mailing information via a PM (or email) so that I can do a copy and paste to ensure accuracy.
Regarding insurance: Insurance for packages valued up to $50 is free; this more than covers the cost of lead sent in a small flat rate box.
For the 50+lb packages of lead: if you wish to insure the entire package value (up to $100), the cost is $2.80 .
When a package is delayed, I suggest to the customer to either go to their local post office or send an email to USPS customer support. At this time, calling the customer service number is *not* an option! During the XMAS holidays, the estimated wait time was 1 hour. I tried calling them the other day: the wait time was estimated to be over 2 hours! Ridiculous. I spoke to a supervisor about the telephone service, and she too thought it was outrageous! I inquired about a 25+lb package of lead that was mailed out January 12th and tracking shows it is delayed but on its way to the next facility. There is presently a trace on it. Hopefully the postal service will find it and deliver it to the customer. It is unfortunate when something like this happens, but I have no control over this.
I believe one has to wait 60 days to file an insurance claim, and I the cost is around $6.10 give or take.
So, I am just letting you know that for the 50+lb packages, extra insurance is available as noted above.
Thank you.

Bump and a status.
I fetched more range lead last week, and plan to start smelting it (hopefully this upcoming week). I do have some range lead ingots in stock as well. Price remains $1.05 per pound, and shipping is extra. So for a 50+lb box, the cost is $52.50 for the lead, and $14.35 for postage. Total: $66.85. If interested, please send me a PM (Private Message). I reserve the right to limit quantities.
And a final hurrah for wheel weights. As of a couple of months ago, I discontinued the wheel weight "line of business" as a source for lead because only about 28% of the total I last fetched from my major supplier were lead. A losing proposition for me (and the lead content would be about the same, if not less). The major supplier of my ww's has discontinued the use of new lead wheel weights, and have gone over to steel. HOWEVER, I was given first refusal in regard to buying their remaining NEW *clipon* wheel weights that they had in stock! I paid their asking price, (which was far above scrap value, but the only waste I would have is the steel clips). A week earlier, they called me in regard to fetching their ww's and I told them that I discontinued this part of my business. I explained why. They could not "talk me into" fetching their weights! They were disappointed to hear this news. And they know that I paid them better than what they could get at a scrap yard. We had a nice working relationship, and it had been a win/win for both of us. I guess this is why they gave me first refusal on buying up their remaining new clipon ww's. And my contact there told me they were disappointed at the price the scrapyard paid them the week before (far less than what they would have received from me).
Back to clipon ingots! The price for clipon ingots is $1.30 per pound x 25 lbs = $32.50 + $7.90 shipping, for a total of $40.40 . At this time, the limit is 25 pounds per person. However, this could change depending upon the interest shown. But for now: 1 box, 25 lbs.
I have yet to box up the ingots. If anyone is interested in buying a box (25 lbs), the first 10 people to respond to this post will be put on the waiting list (no obligation to buy when I do have the ingots ready to ship).
Thank you.
List as of 5/7/2019
