Interesting. I like the design.
I wonder if it shoots as well as it looks?
any "Target Rifle" needs more than an 18 inch barrel. 22 inch would be marginal, 24 inch would be okay(minimum for the 17's), 26 or 28 inch even better.
No iron sights so barrel length is not the important. I really like Ruger's mags but past barrel issues keep me away from them. I may have to try on in 17 HMR.
I've owned numerous 10-22's with their 18in barrels & like them just fine. but this rifle still needs a longer barrel if they're gonna call it a 'Target Rifle'.
I've never really needed more than 12 inches for a .22 rifle. I wish Ruger would have made these toggle-lock rifles though instead of the RAR turn-bolt.
I can see myself getting a 22 WMR for jackrabbits and feral cats.
Oh, No!! Am I going to have to buy another rimfire rifle. Or worst yet, maybe two, because of caliber options. I just hate you guys!!!!
Is there a lh model?
That looks prettty sweet. You guys are costing me money.

Disarming is a mistake free people only get to make once...
First time out with this rifle and it would not extract about 2 rounds on average per magazine, 9 rounds.
I was frustrated to say the least. Got it home and found a real good youtube video on tearing down the bolt. VERY simple to do.
On further inspection I found some real nasty little burrs on the extractor. A little oil and a fine stone smoothed that out in short order.
I'm pretty sure that was the problem. I just need to get back out and shoot it again.

Got to shoot the 17 again and the problem is solved!

it's a sad commentary on the state of QC in the industry when a man has to take a NIB gun out of the box & work on it to make it reliable. but, glad it was an easy fix & you 'got-r-did'.
FIVE HUNDRED BUCKS ! Are you insane ?

$196 at Buds, mine drives tacks.
I'm sure the Savage would be just fine and the Ruger likely don't justify the double-price but, all things considered I'd rather have the Ruger(if the Ruger just had a longer barrel).
