Anybody use Hornady One Shot sprayed at a 45 degree angle? Is it better/easier than dipping the case mouth in graphite dry lube?

Anybody use Hornady One Shot sprayed at a 45 degree angle? Is it better/easier than dipping the case mouth in graphite dry lube?
I do lube the inside of the necks but I use the lube used for the resizing. Hornady lube should work fine if given time to dry.
when I FL size rifle brass, that is exactly how I do it.

Yep, same with me for bottleneck brass. I should have said straight wall handgun brass. in particular .45 Colt.
Is this the belling die to prevent lead shaving?
If so, in what calibers do you lube the case mouth for expansion?

I use a touch of graphite every 10 or so bottle neck cases when sizing but nothing on straight pistol cases.

I have never used graphite so cannot compare to that. I do use Hornady One Shot on my bottle neck rifle cartridges at a 45 degree angle and it works fine.

Are you talking about expanding/flaring the case mouth prior to seating a cast boolit? If so, no lube should be used.

I find that as long as a run a brush through the neck first, I don't need to lube the inside

if your cases are too clean they will stick on the flair/powder through dies especially on the Dillon's.
I just swipe my left hand on the funnel every 4-5 rounds.
it has a little lube on the fingers from handling the boolits.
for rifles when I'm neck sizing I use a bore mop with some sizing lube on it.
I just grab a handful and poke the mop in the necks then size them.
Yeah, new Starline brass made a Lee expander crazy sticky. I MUCH prefer an M die style of expander and just received it yesterday from Buffalo Arms.
A lot of the neck lube kits with the brushes use Mica for lube. I have used the mica, molyebdium, and even the Imperial sizing die wax I use for sizing.I have also found a good polished surface on the expander helps a lot. I polish expander balls and expanders to a mirror finish
I have a medicine bottle filled about 1/3 with #9 shot and I have added graphite, when I need to lube the necks I simply push the brass down into it, perfectly lubed.
For my bottle neck cartridges 223,308 and 7.62x39 I use carbide expander balls,never lubed the inside of straight walled pistol cases.
Carbide dies for straight walled pistol cases, never any lube.
For bottle neck cases, apply Unique case lube, then dip the necks in dry lube and tap off excess with a wooden dowel. Run trough a RCBS X-siser die followed by a RCBS cast bullet expander. Wipe cases off by hand, never removed the inside the neck dry lube before seating bullet. After all, cast bullets are lubed and it doesn't hurt the reloading process.

Doesn't matter what brand expander w/ new Starline brass. It galls bad on all of them. I run all new Starline brass through a tumbler treated w/ NuFinish. This alleviates the galling issues.

Polishing that expander is an easy way to make it nice and smooth. I had a 6x284 and necked down Lapua 6.5x284 brass. It was vital to have the neck lubed when forming the brass or you would regret it very quickly! Mica works, graphite works, even case lube works in a pinch but if you are looking for uniformity then it's a necessary part of the process.
