    powder coating 7.62x39

Hi smoke, I brought a lb. of your green and blue powder and I've been very happy with the system. but I have run into a problem. Shooting 7.62x39 on an AR platform. the bullets are sticking in the camber of the rifle. I finally miked the powder coated ones and they are running about .313 in front of the "bands" of the bullets. my tumble coated bullets are running around .308. is there a way to thin out the powder coat some???? after cooking them I think I need to be about 310 or not over .311,(or just use less powder) I'm using the 25gram plastic balls to shake the bullets in. I'm just looking for any hints or has any one else run into this. I'll be checking with Lee and see if I can get a .305 or .306 dia mold. I call Accurate and get one built like I think I need it. What say you?

you should only be getting about .002 to no more that .003 increase in size
are you either tapping the coated bullets on the container top to knockoff excess powder or using the paper bowels with holes to sift the powder and BBs from the coated bullets ..
I prefer the second method as it does both separate and remove excess powder with still keeping the bullets well coated ?

i'm tapping the sides of the container but it looks like, not near hard enough, it needs work! maybe a container of clean BB's to get the excess off. I could live with .02 or so. "next batch".

Speed up process, knocks off excess powderso you don’t have to tap bullets on container, and leave just the bullets inthe bowl for easy pickings
    http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?313237-Let-s-separate-the-Boolits-from-the-BB-s

I glue 2 bowls together and Then punch holes .. 3rd bowl unpunched catches the bbs and excess powder ..
This method works extremely well for removing excess powder and getting good coating .. Plus now you have only bullets and few few bbs left in the pan .. makes picking up the bullets much faster and easier

I use smoke's yellow green (one coat) and then run my 7.62x39s through a Lee push through sizer. Work great in my AR.

I Use this 99¢ colander from goodwill, dump them on my bake tray and get OK results. [no pictures of smokes green in the colander]
boolits after shaking in colandar [notice the pie pan, I used to shake onto parchment paper,
only did that once with the BB's

    boolits how I bake them

    boolits baked and dumped

not perfect, but plenty good enough to shoot
