can you powder coat jacketed bullets?

    well can you?

i suppose you can....so here is why i ask.

i have several revolvers that i have had the chambers re-throated or evened up.

and .356 jacketed and even .357 bullets just fall thru the cylinders.

so........if i powder coat and push them thru a .358 lee sizer am i correct?

in a world of "fit is king."

i'm thinking it should work....does it really matter with jacketed?

    Not effectively,

if you are using jacketed bullets, buy .358 bullets.
Save the .356 and even .357 for 9mm or 38 super

With the heavier loads and jacketed you will be bumping the
    base up anyway.

To answer your question, Yes, you can PC and size jacketed bullets.

Yes you can.i would suggest using a push-through sizer with the bullet lubed with case lube.

This would be an interesting post if...you were to give us a pictorial of the 'before and after'.

Just the facts, using bare J-types...load details, chrono and target results...then PC and size them to fit and repeat the same thing with those.
That'd be an interesting post should you give accurate measurements of the weapon your working with and the measurements of the projectiles you use.

Details, photos and empirical evidence...that's what matters.

it was just a thought...not that i'd really do it.

i thought it might be an easy fix for a sloppy fit.

I found that the few I PC'd and ran through a .308 push through sizer came out .309. Spring back? Anyway, might be a useful method for someone wishing to bump a jacketed bullet up without buying expensive dies.

Clean the jacketed bullets with a strong degreaser and cleaner, air dry, don't touch them after cleaning without gloves, shake n bake, let cool, spray with case lube, size. Only size if needed. I can't post pics but I will do a video on it soon and post a link.
