    Which scope mount?

Hi guys, I am considering the following scope mounts.

Burris AR-P.E.P.R. 1-Piece Extended Scope Mount

AR-Stoner Gen 2 Extended 1-Piece Cantilever Scope Mount

Aero precision Ultralight 1" Scope Mount, SPR - Anodized Black

Which would you go for and why?

    Thanks

My assumption is that the mount will be used on a flat top AR rifle.

There are a baker's dozen mounts out there. I think that any good on one will suffice. If shooting prone or sitting positions, you'll want that cantilever design to get the scope's ocular lens at least 3" from you eye.

I've been using the P-Series two piece combination mount and rings on my action shooting upper and the Blackhawk canilever base on a flat top that I just set up to meet the new NRA and CMP rules for the National Match course of fire. Both work well and get the scope out and away from the eye.

I use the same lower receiver for both types of shooting. I just change the upper as needed.

I recommend Bobro. This is what I use and therefore is the best!

Seriously though, you might want to do some research on the black rifle sights where people are more likely to have experience with several manufacturers' mounts.

The P series Nikon is a good set. On the cheapo side I've used Redfield See-Thru rings with complete satisfaction but I just hunt with my ARs. I don't fight or compete with them.

The important thing to me is to have the ocular bell forward of the op handle. And weight. As stated, you can find answers on an AR forum where someone has likely used the mounts you mentioned.

PEPR for all my ARs. Monarch 3 mounts solid, 6 screw cap. Steel mount doesn't move when hot.
    Whatever!

You can spend a fortune on a mount BUT you can buy one like this on Amazon for 20 bucks and it works fine. CSINO Tactical Cantilever Integrated Dual Rings 30MM/1''(25.4MM)Scope QR Quick Release Mount
I have on a 308 AR with a heavy 3-10 scope. Has never budged.

I prefer a base with separate rings. Many times one peice base/rings don't allow proper scope placement for proper eye releif with many scopes. The adjustment housing always seems to need to be where the front ring is. With seperate rings they can be moved to fit the scope instead of the scope being moved to fit the base.
