    .375 gas checks for 9.3 or .366?

I have heard of people having 9.3X62 boolit molds made, and they had them make the gas check part fit a .375 GC. I understand it would be great because you could use whatever brand you wanted, but how does that work out, when it is swaged down in the sizer, dos the check bow in or out, will it bounce back and end up oversize? I guess annealing would fix that, but do they hold on as well as if it was just a reg. mold and reg. 9.3 GC? I will be getting a CZ550 in 9.3X62 in a few months and I was just curios about it. and to the person on here that sells checks, do you make them in copper? I don't remember if I asked. thanks a lot, Travis

I have one 9.3mm mold that is made to take .375 gas checks. I have not used a lot of them, but I just anneal the .375 gas check, and put it on as usual with a Lyman 450. It does take a bit more force.

I believe I have seen aluminum 9.3 checks, but here are copper:

    I have 375gc's and 9.3 gc's.

The 9.3 work better on the 9.3 bullets.

9.3 gas checks are available. I get mine from Sage Outdoors and they make them in copper or aluminum.

ok, I was worried about availability. I prefer copper GC's to aluminum and I always anneal, less springback=tighter fit, but I do miss a nice shiny copper check!

In 2002 when I got started with the 9.3 x 62, mould makers used either 35 or 375 caliber gas check shanks on their 9.3mm moulds. Since that time, our semi-custom toolmaker cadre has come out with caliber-specific 9.3mm gas checks and shank specs. When ordering a mould, make certain which shank size and corresponding check size are involved with that mould.
