New Peep Sight idea for CZ 527 usisng See-Through Scope Mounts

I've been working some time to find a good way to use both a peep sight and a scope on my CZ 527, but hadn't found a product out there that really did what I want at a reasonable price. So, I just finished modifying existing available hardware for my own purpose. Details on how I did it are in the attached fileCZ Peep Sight mount.pdf

Nice job of work, but it does beg the question "just how high does one wish to mount a scope before cheek weld becomes a joke?"

Good question. The CZ has a raised cheek pad-- and the mount is medium height, so that the cheek piece hits just below my cheek bone-- so it works out.

why wouldn't you use really good rings you can trust to reset to zero?

Whiterabbit-- I assume you mean the type that let you remove the scope and use the iron sights. I could have done that (if I could have found a set for the 16mm CZ dovetail), but then I'd be using the open sight dovetail for my peep sight, which gives me a sight radius of only 16 inches. By building the peep sight into the rear ring I got a 24 inch sight radius for my peep sight, which really helps with accuracy.

I tried a see=through mount years ago. I found that rifle cant was a problem for me.
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!
