CMP stocks are pretty, very nicely grained wood and after you strip them and add Tung or Linseed oil they turn out nice. But, they are fat and just don't feel as good in the hand as the USGI ones. I've got CMP stocks on my SA CMP Special in .308 and one of the HRA, a Service Grade Special. But the IHC and the other HRA both have USGI wood, with the HRA being my shooter / JCG match rifle.
