A couple of new to me moulds .

I can't seem to find much on these . The trusty Google search only provided a single hit here . Only vague sketch without a description seems to be available for any of the 3 . The 266s seem to be the same but with and without gas checks maybe 1 is an FP ?

    90 gr RN

    266469 1 cav
    266324 1cav (IDEAL)
Being an Ideal mould it must have for 6.5 x 55 but somebody might know of another.

The 257312 is the high-velocity boolit for the .25-20 sizes. The 266469 is a heavy Loverin design for slow twist 6.5 rifles up to 600 yards.

The 266324 looks like the Kephart design sized down. Supposed to be good for moderate velocities in the 6.5 Mannlicher.

All this from the Handbook of Cast Bullets, Volume 1.

257312 Designed for high velocity in the .25-20 single shot and repeaters. Also good for other 25 calibers. (GC, FN, 89 – TP is 420)

266469 A heavy bullet of H. Guy Louverin design. Good for slow twist rifles up to 600 yards. (GC, RN, 141 - 455, TP is 463)

266324 Originally designed for the 6.5 Mann. A very good bullet at moderate velocities for target or game in all 6.5 calibers. (PB, RN, 119 - TP is 455)

You found some nice molds if you have the rifles for them!
    Regards
    John

Thanks guys , not in my possession yet ..... .
Doesn't sound like either of the 266s will be prime in a 264 WM ...... But might be good to try in paper for a 6.8 SPCII.

I do have a 257 Roberts so that should work out well . That 4C should pile them up pretty quickly .

I have a pair of singles in 257312. I intend to try them in my 25-35 contender barrel.

Try 17.0 grains of 2400 in your .257 with that boolit--you'll be happy, I do believe.
