A new to me Rapine 457201 arrived last night .
I copied the old catalog pages but it's unlisted by my high precision eye ball to looks more like 250-260 than 200 gr . Perfect for a soft 15-1800 fps 45-70 light critter getter .

    432 Hammer

I don't see a post yet for this one. The 432 Hammer. Mold fit and finish is excellent. I preheated the mold on the low side but still had keepers by the 4th cast. I started casting at 710F but lowered to 690F. Finish on the penta pins is the best yet, boolits just dropped off..

Didn't get it today, in fact I've had it for ten days or so. I have long wanted a big Hensley & Gibbs mold. A member here had a #50, 10 cavity which I was able to snatch up. Beautiful piece of machining, almost better than sex when I unwrapped it.

I don't think there has been any lead through it other than the test casting they did at the factory. I know I'm going to have to come up with something for auxiliary support so I can deal with the weight of the mold.

I haven't cast with it yet as I need to spend a day cleaning up my casting bench. Weather has been ugly here, colder, windier & cursed with more snow, than normal. Yesterday I shoveled a path to the shed after the latest 12+" snowfall. Managed to pull a muscle in my left leg doing that so that's going to set my plans back since I can barely walk, with a cane, right now. Gotta let that get over hurting before I stand at the pot for any meaningful sessions.

Just scored a four cavity Hensley & Gibbs #68 in excellent shape. Very dirty though. What's the best way to remove the gunk without damaging the underlying finish?

Very Cool! I have 3 versions of the #503 including the BC#1103 and it's my favorite bullet. Hope it works well for you.

I got a Lyman 2 cavity Loverin from an Ebay seller. 323470, used in VG condition. All the parts are there, and nothing abused. This one I bought, because one cavity is the standard gas check, and the other cavity was altered to plain base by a previous owner. Very hard to find a one-of-each mold like this, without buying new from other companies at two/three times the cost. Degreased it, dried it, and started pouring. I cast about 60 bullets with it today, plain wheelweight alloy. Click image for larger version.

ID:	238509 It casts fine, but I need to do a micrometer check on the diameter. So far so good.

Received a new MP 462 hammer 4cav GC HP mold today, cleaned it heat cycled it three time in the oven then went to cast. Now my pot isn't very big it an old Seco 24 ten pound pot. Does a great job still, but if I'm going to do a lot of casting with this mold, I'm gonna need a bigger pot. Mold ran great once it got Hot, and yes it likes to be Hot, lead was right at 710 but buy the time I got really going I was out of lead and had to put the mold back on a hot plate to keep it warm and remelt some lead. The Mold cast great, except one cavity I could not get the bases to fill out no matter what. Other than that was awesome. Oh lead mix is 50/50

I scored a 4 cavity 45266 mold, like new, for $60. Somewhat rare. Lyman only made this mold for a couple of years. I don't know why they dropped it. Looks similar to a Lyman 452460, except it has a boattail base, and weighs 215 gr. I was given a handful of these bullets from a competitor to try, back in the 1980's. Finding a mold was put on the back burner for years. Now by accident, I found one. Best shooting bullet in my Clark Longslide I have found to date.

Got an old Ideal mould for my .35-30 Maynard thick rim that should cast about a 160 grain bullet. Need to cast a few samples to check weight and diameter ...

The rifle is a Maynard .35-30 "thick rim" with a 2nd factory fitted (matching serial number) .64 smoothbore barrel ...

Not today but not long ago I finally got the 35-250 SP I've been passively looking for about 3 years for the brand new 358 Win 98' . I shot a few from a pig and a poke buy and those are the one for business in this one .

My new molds from NV Ballistics arrived Saturday. So Sunday evening I put them in the machine and turned it on. A few adjustments and in a while I had 2500 45 Colt boolits on the scale. Happy so far.

Tom delivered in 7 days flat. Fiance bought me a two cavity 31-72W mold for my new to me NAA Guardian in 32ACP. Factory 60 grain hp is super snappy and uncomfortable in this pistol. Gonna try 2 grains of Red Dot and see how she does.

NOE 225-46 in the 3 cavity brass configuration. It casts a beautiful little slug. I gas checked and sized a few and tried them at 50 yards using 2400 and my 1730Annie. The 6.5 grain load went into .663" and the 8.0 grain went into .857 not too bad for the first outing...…..Attachment 241134Attachment 241135
