Another Lee TL 452-230 TC came in the mail yesterday for me. This time a 6 cav.. I have 1 other 2 cav. of the same type.

Some folks don't like the TL boolits and prefer the regular lube grooved ones. I have both types & both types work fine for me, so I do not have preference one way or the other. I just lube them whichever way I want to do so & shoot them.

Maybe some day I will spend a bit more on some more expensive molds, but until then , I will just keep on casting & shooting what I have.

Nothing real special...I had a friend give me a Lyman .498 round ball single cavity and about 12 lbs of pure lead roof sheathing. I'll either cast some .498" for the muzzy...or run them through the .430 sizer for some light 44 Mag/Spl loads.

Been monitoring some auctions back East and I bought a Lee 6 cavity #4 buckshot mould for a pittance. Thought it might work well for some buckshot loads to try in my Lee Enfield No. 1 MK III in .410 Musket (smoothbore). The British military had a buckshot load for them as well as a single round ball load.

Got this little beauty today, Lyman 313445 2C!

Have been looking for this one for a good while, did not want a 1C or a junk mould. Not sure why the sprue stop pin is boogered, looks like it has been pulled at some point. Can't wait to cast with it and load up the 32 H&R mag and the old 30/30!

I just brought in a Hensley & Gibbs mold, 4-cavity, that is branded "73 BB .357" which is a 145 grain SWC with bevel base. The blocks had a small scattering of light rust on the outside but none inside the working surface or cavities. The handles are solid. This mold came from an estate and the previous owner was sick for several years before he passed. Most of his casting equipment and molds were already gone when I got to the sale. I can't imagine how this mold was left behind by the earlier buyer(s) but am glad they ignored it. As I write this post my furnace is warming up. I'm not a fan of the bevel base but that didn't stop me from bringing this mold home.

Accurate 35-155D. Plan on powder coating them and shooting them in a CZ Shadow 2 9mm.

I have gone through a bit of a journey trying to settle on an everyday range/target bullet for 10mm and 40. I started with the Lee 401-175-TC. Great bullet profile, horrible mold.

Then an NOE 403-180-RF 5 cav. Nice mold.
Good people, but the danged thing cast too fat.

Then tried a new Lyman 4 cav 401638. Another nice bullet. After fuss8ng with some QC problems, Lyman replaced it under warranty. New one shows up with the same problems. Sold it new (with disclaimers to the buyer).

I also have a nice Accurate 40-200F. Great mold, nice profile, but 200 gr is a little heavy for volume work.

Each time I cast with my 10mm LBT WFN mold, it is such a noticeably more enjoyable experience. It is so superior at casting than any of my other molds. After the Lyman issues I dropped the extra coin and worked with Veral Smith to cut 401-175-TC. Wished I did that first.

I can't wait to cast with it soon.

Received a combination mold with one cavity for the 416 Rigby, and one cavity for the 450 Nitro Express from Accurate. Will try it out tomorrow.

Looks like a very nice mold. This is my first Accurate mold. Hope it's as good as the molds that people keep bragging about here.

I just bought an Ideal 454424 mold with square grooves. Paid too much but she is a beauty. I am looking forward to casting with it (probably tomorrow).

Kind of off the subject but I wonder where Texas Grunt, the original poster, got off to? He was having some health problems and just disappeared. I'm hoping for the best but fear the worst. Anyone know?

I had a single and dbl cav of that one. I like it allot too. When I looked at the cast bullets they looked different... well they where apparently i lost a 454424 and acquired a 452424. I still have the single cav 454424
